Occupying the southern central landmass, Worgan is a chaotic, brutal, yet highly functional nation dominated by orcs, goblins, and other monstrous races. Far from mindless beasts, the inhabitants have formed a rugged, low-tech society that successfully holds its own against the Concord. This is the home of the Iron-Hide Garrisons—orcish defensive lines that rely on high-aggression tactics, brute force, and messy sterilization methods rather than the GVA's pristine aether-tech. It is also the homeland for the vast majority of the goblin population that occasionally migrates north to find mercenary or temp-work in the lower strata of Grand Vane. To the denizens of Worgan, formal borders mean nothing. They view the northern nations as rigid and fragile, and warbands occasionally travel north to raid or test the defenses of the "civilized" world, creating a volatile dynamic where they are simultaneously a crucial buffer against the Concord and an unpredictable threat to the Archduchy.
The landscape of Worgan is defined by the Iron-Hide Garrisons—a sprawling network of brutalist, makeshift fortresses wedged into steep river gorges and ash-choked mountainsides. Drawing heavily on scavenged materials, the architecture is a menacing sprawl of jagged iron plating, thick timber palisades, and rusted, smoke-spewing chimneys. Watchtowers bristle with crude iron spikes to ward off aerial spore-drifters, while the valleys below echo with the endless clamour of crude, hammering forge-works producing heavy, unrefined weaponry and war-scrap.
While the Grand Vane Alliance (GVA) relies on pristine aether-tech and the clinical "Sterile Defence" doctrine to fight the Concord, the warriors of Worgan rely on high-aggression tactics and raw brute force. They do not request GVA support and flatly refuse to yield ground. Their methods of clearing Concord outbreaks are famously "messy". Instead of contained solar-burns, orcish warbands favor crude, highly volatile alchemical fire, heavy scrap-metal artillery, and wading directly into fungal-infected zones to hack spore-beasts apart with massive, jagged iron cleavers.
At the heart of Worgan's military might are the sprawling, mud-drenched breeding pens. Orc handlers train massive, shaggy Worgs, armoured boars, and other hulking beasts of burden to haul heavy scrap-barges up the churning riverways or break enemy lines. The integration of monstrous mounts with crude, diesel-chugging engines and heavy iron plating makes an advancing Worgan warband a terrifying, earth-shaking avalanche of muscle and metal.
To the denizens of Worgan, the formal borders and rigid bureaucracies of the northern nations are fragile and meaningless. This creates a highly volatile geopolitical dynamic; Worgan serves as a crucial, unyielding buffer against the Malignant Concord, but simultaneously remains an unpredictable threat to the Archduchy. Orcish warbands frequently travel north to raid or test the defences of the "civilized" world just to see if the GVA's metal walls hold up to a true battering. Meanwhile, a massive portion of Worgan's goblin population regularly migrates north, slipping into the claustrophobic lower strata of Grand Vane to find dangerous temp-work or mercenary contracts in the soot-choked Muck.
